Alessia Cara and Sesame Street Performance “So Much Alike” in Global Citizen Award 2020

John Oliver had chat with Sesame Street’s Elmo with Alessia Cara to perform her song “ So much Alike” with the Sesame Street gang.

Global Citizen Award: This award celebrates an individual who has seen the impact of poverty and its systematic causes.

Bryan Stevenson founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative( EJI), has dedicated his career to helping the poor, the incarcerated, and the condemned. He also launched the Alabama-based organization Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) during McMillan’s case in 1989, and it has continued advocating for wrongly convicted and unfairly sentenced people ever since. 

And now Bryan is adding another accolade to his long list of achievements- 2020 Global Citizen Prize: Global Citizen of the Year.

The Prime Time award winner and Last Week Tonight host John Oliver had chat with Sesame Street’s Elmo was the sweetest thing in the show that grabbed the attention. The chat endorsed the unprecedented year we’ve all been having amid the pandemic. Oliver also admitted it would be better for everyone if he didn’t join in with singing a song.

So instead. Alessia Cara came on screen to perform her song “ So Much Alike” with the Sesame Street gang-  Song was performed by Alessia Cara in Season 48. 

We may look different or speak different languages but we all people who want to be loved and have fun. 

Sesame Street is a production of Sesame Workshop, a nonprofit educational organization that produces the Sesame Street program, seen in over 150 countries. The song So Much Alike is all about the things all humans have in common, something that everyone has been reminded of and come to appreciate this year.

 Alessia Cara, 24-year-old Canadian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Three years she performed with The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She also signed with EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings in 2014 and released her debut single the following year.
