Jonathan Entwistle, Co-creator of the series ‘I Am Not Okay With This’ wanted to re-cut the finale of the season to give closure to the fans. The season ended with a cliffhanger and later due to during the COVID-19, Netflix decided to drop the series and announced the series has been canceled.
In a talk to the Insider, Jonathan said that he tried requesting Netflix to at least re-cut the final episode to give the fans a sense of closure, rather than leaving them yearning for the next season. Jonathan also shared how tragic he felt hearing about the cancelation of ‘I Am Not Okay With This’.
The ending of the series was different compared to the ending in the comic source. The comic version ended as Sydney committing suicide, Jonathan and Christy Hall didn’t want this ending and decided to do the cliffhanger, which Netflix declined to change. Despite having not yet been officially announced, I Am Not Okay With This season 2 had already been written, and was about to begin filming when Netflix pulled the plug. The show was canceled in August due to “circumstances created by COVID-19”.
