‘Coming to America’ first look teaser is out now! Unknown facts are revealed!

Eddie Murphy is back as Prince Akeem in Coming 2 America, joined of course by his loyal friend and sidekick, Semmi (Arsenio Hall). Amazon Prime Video shared the first images of Murphy, Hall and more in their Coming to America sequel this morning, giving us a glimpse at characters we last saw in the 1988 original. After a long gap of 30 years, a sequel to Eddie Murphy’s iconic 1988 movie Coming to America is all set for its release. Here are some musings on the unknown facts behind its production.

The film sees Murphy back in one of his most legendary roles, Prince Akeem (now king), and several of his OG cast members will be by his side.

“I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out,” Murphy said in 2019 about the sequel. “A lot of people have this expectation, like, people would say to me when they found out I was doing it, ‘Don’t fuck that movie up.’ So we’ve gone above and beyond what anybody would think. I’m really, really happy with it”-says Murphy.

Blaustein and David Sheffield wrote the screenplay. In addition to returns from cast members like Murphy, Hall and James Earl Jones, new additions include Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones and Tracy Morgan.
