Emotional and unexpected message to England from the Royal Family?

Today being Christmas day for the year 2020 The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have conveyed an unexpected message, unlike every year’s wishes. Though Prince William and Kate Middleton had acknowledged Christmas day for 2020 by releasing this year’s Christmas cards earlier this month they also made a clear statement that Christmas day for 2020 would be different for many people across the country this year. Earlier this month, the Royal couple confessed that they were struggling to decide who to spend the festive holidays with.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on a two-day Christmas cheer tour across England, Scotland and Wales, when William told students in Cardiff: “It’s difficult to know what to do for the best.”  The Prime Minister and Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer also paid tribute to front-line workers in their Christmas messages.

The Duke and Duchess said they wanted to wish for a “Better 2021” instead of a Merry Christmas this year as they paid tribute to the grieving families and front-line workers. Hundreds and thousands of Brits entered tough Tier-4 restrictions just days before Christmas, which shows that they were forced to change their festive plans. For many people, the families were kept apart due to the raging pandemic and new restrictions with regards to the same.

William and Kate tweeted pictures of people working through the festive season and said, “This Christmas, our thoughts are with those of you who are spending today alone, and those of you who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Our thoughts also go to those of you on the front-line, who are still mustering the energy to put your own lives on hold to look after the rest of us.”

They also added: “Wishing a merry Christmas doesn’t feel right this year, so instead we’re wishing for a better 2021. “For those struggling today, there is support available: @GiveUsAShout @MindCharity @samaritans @theCALMzone @TheSilverLineUK @OurFrontlineUK @NHSCharities.”
