Currently, six men are arrested and accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, the authorities announced on Thursday. The criminal complaint identified the six as Adam Fox, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, Brandon Caserta, all of Michigan, and Barry Croft of Delaware. These men had surveilled Ms Whitmer’s vacation home in the past two months of August and September.FBI says these men were planning to take her as a hostage before the presidential election which is to be held in November.

The criminal complaint states: “Fox said their best opportunity to abduct Governor Whitmer would be when she was arriving at or leaving, either her personal vacation home or the Governor’s official summer residence. Both residences are located in the Western District of Michigan. Fox described it as a ‘Snatch and grab, man. Grab the f—’ Governor. Just grab the bitch. Because at that point, we do that, dude — it’s over.’ FOX said that after kidnapping the Governor, the group would remove her to a secure location in Wisconsin for ‘trial’.”

By the Summer, these men gathered for firearms training, combat drills and tried to make explosives. The FBI had also said that it had learned more about the group by intercepting encrypted messages and also using their undercover agents.
