Google search introduces its dark mode in Android 10 or iOS 12 and above. It is rolling out now but may take a week to reach all handsets. It’s not clear that when will PC get this mode.The tech giant rolled out the Dark theme mode for Google Play Store in March this year. The dark-mode for Google Play-store is available for Android smartphones and tablets.
Dark Mode is a color scheme that uses light-colored text, icons, and graphical user interface elements on a dark background. It often discussed in terms of computer user interface design and web design. In November 2018, Google confirmed dark mode on Android saves battery life.
Google Search, also referred to as Google Web Search or simply Google is a web search engine developed by Google. It is the most used search engine on the World Wide Web across all platforms, with 92.62% market share as of June 2019, handling more than 5.4 billion searches each day.
If you have the Google Search app on your phone, and you’ve received this mode, it will appear according to your phone’s default theme. You can still manually change it as well.
To switch dark to light mode:
- open the Google Search app and go to the settings menu.
- Select ‘General’ from the list and scroll down to select a theme.
- Here, you’ll have the option to choose light, dark, or system default.
The possibilities are self-explanatory, but if you have a system-wide this mode on then, you can always switch to a light theme. This flexibleness as not everyone would want dark mode all over their phone.The dark mode for Google search in PC is expecting soon.
