IPL, 13th Edition began with the Victory of Chennai Super Kings over Mumbai Indians

The 13th edition of Indian premier league had begun today at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The initial match was held between Chennai super kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians(MI), CSK led by the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, had won the game against the previous champions MI.

CSK had won the toss and choose to field first, the bowling department performed well and MI scored 162 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 over. CSK batsman Ambati Rayudu along with Faf du Plessis performed a great partnership leading their team to victory.
Rayudu scored the first 50 of 13th edition IPL, he scored the total of 71 runs facing 48 balls. Faf also scores 58 runs facing 44 balls.

In the initial stage of batting CSK was under pressure as they lose there opening batsman’s Watson and Vijay with in the first two overs. Later the partnership by Faf and Rayudu made the team an expectation, Sam Curran and Jadeja also bats well for the victory. In MI side Tiwary is the leading scorer with 42 runs, followed by DeCock scoring 33 runs. South African bowler Lungi Ngidi breaks MI batting taking 3 wickets, Deepak Chahar and Jadeja joined the destruction taking 2 wickets each.

CSK vs MI is the most awaited match in IPL always. Even though today’s match was mostly awaited due to another reason and that’s MS Dhoni, after the defeat against New Zealand in World Cup 2019, the captain cool haven’t played any matches moreover he retired from International cricket on August 15 of this year. Thus this match was celebrated as his return to the ground by the millions of CSK and Dhoni fans.

The 13th edition of Indian Premier League is taking place with strict regulation, excluding the audience due to the COVID-19. The second match will take place between Kings Eleven Punjab and Delhi Dare Devils tomorrow at 7:30 IST.
