The 31st match of IPL 2020 was held at Sharjah International Stadium between RCB and KXIP. KXIP won the match by 8 wickets. RCB won the toss and Virat Kohli opted to bat first and scored a total of 171 with the loss of 6 wickets. KXIP made their victory at the last ball of their innings.
Virat Kohli’s decision to bat first doesn’t seem good as all their batsmen struggled before the Punjab bowlers. Kohli is the top scorer with 48 runs of the 39 balls faced. RCB was taken to this decent score by Chris Morris, he trashed the Punjab bowlers and scored 23 runs of the 8 balls faced. For Punjab, their bowlers performed well. Mohammed Shami and Murugan Ashwin took 2 wickets each, and Arshdeep Singh along with Chris Jordan took 1 wicket each.
KL Rahul and Agarwal opened the innings for KXIP. For the initial two overs the batsmen seemed struggling after that they both began punishing the RCB bowlers. Agarwal was more aggressive compared to KL Rahul. Both the openers strokes well. But RCB’s spin wizard Chahal made the breakthrough by picking Agarwalls wicket, but the worse was waiting for RCB bowlers. Chris Gayle joined shipper Rahul and once again proved why he is called “Universe Boss”. He along with the skipper keep on punishing the RCB bowlers.
But the last over’s were a bit dramatic and Punjab players struggled to score. Seven runs were needed off the last two overs with Gayle and Rahul at the crease when Isuru Udana gave away only five to make it two off the last over. Kohli bought Chahal for the last over and he made 2 dot balls and made things tight. In the second last ball of the match, KXIP was in need of 1 of the 2 balls, and Gayle got runout and this brought Nicholas Pooran to the crease and the team was in need of 1 out of 1 ball remaining. He just smashed Chahal to the boundary thus bringing the KXIP their 2nd victory of the tournament and both were against RCB.
Gayle scored 53 runs out of the 45 balls faced that includes 5 gigantic sixes. Rahul also score a half-century, 61 of 49 balls. Agarwal scored 45 of 25 deliveries. KXIP team hits 14 sixes against RCB.
