A detailed journey throughout ‘Israel in Prophesy’ as well as ‘Israel now’ is indeed a need of the hour! Let’s take a look at the magical fulfillment of prophecies which was monumental in assembling the current image of Israel.

1. Abraham and the fruition of his progeny

Israel, being the Promised Land for the progeny of Abraham, the founding father of the covenant of the pieces, was indeed blessed with their manpower and strength.

“By Myself have I sworn, said Jehovah, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son: That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is on the sea shore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed My voice” (Genesis 22:16-18).

This unfathomable human resource owned by Israel was indeed a threat to the neighboring countries. In the midst of this growth and development Lord Almighty continued delivering his message to his fellow beings through Kings and prophets as his messengers.

However, in addition to his promise about the flourish victory of his progeny through his younger son Yakub, Abraham was also called for yet another prophesies which a depressing and unpleasant one was indeed. According to the prophesy, Lord exclaimed that along with their growth they would be also constantly put into trial to consolidate their faith in the Almighty through hard core enslavement. The entire Israelite community will be forced to lead a life of an immigrant in their own land. However, the kingdom that put their lives into perilous bondage shall be punished, prophesied Lord. Though their enslavement period will last for about 400 years, they would claim back their wealth as well as their land during their 4th generation of toil.

Four long generations of toil on the land of Egypt was thus a fulfillment of this very prophecy. And later in 400 BC they made their way to their ancestral land Canan, finally liberating themselves from 400 long years of dexterous bondage.

2. Divorced from the Lord, Israelites left astray

Flourishing and developing their economic, human as well as natural resources, the land of Israel gradually rose into the status of a kingdom by around BC1050. Under the kingship and royal rule of Saul, David and Solomon, Israel stratosphered a matchless height following which they loosened their ties with Lord Almighty. Thus they gradually slipped into embracing idolatry as well as many other misdemeanor modes of worship, going against the commandment:

“Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God” (Exodus 20:3).

Witnessing these vicious deeds, Lord warned his pupil through prophet Jeremiah. He alerted them that if they refuse to abide by his words their land will perish forever.

3. Jerusalem in Ablaze

Following this they served the king of Babylon. However, their unfortunate destiny began with the war between Babylon and Jerusalem in BC 588 which resulted in a historic defeat of the Israel army. The after effect of such an atrocious defeat once again brought back slavery into their lives, because of which they were forced to flee their lands. Jerusalem was devoured by fire, leading a total dilapidation of their land.

4. Rennovation of Jerusalem

As per the prophecy by the prophet Isaiah during 8th century BC, the Israelites returned to the land of Jerusalem during the reign of Cyrus and successfully renovated the town of God from nothing to a state of grass-covered land of abundance.

5. Jesus Christ and the Roman Empire

During the life of Jesus Christ, Jerusalem was under the subordination of the Roman Empire.

Lord Jesus prophesied: ‘You see all of these things, do you not? Truly I say unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down’” (Matthew 24:1-2).

It is alleged that when the Romans invaded the city, wreaking devastational damage in A.D. 70, the temple was totally demolished and thus the Lord’s prophecy was fulfilled. Following this destruction, Titus who was the commander in chief of the Roman army captured for about 1,00,000 Jews and enslaved them. However, in the midst of all these brutalities, a complete elimination of the Jews was indeed a daunting task and no single force in the world had succeeded in this mission till the day.

6. Colonialism and the Migration of Israelites

Under the colonization of several imperial forces the inhabitants of Israel got scattered to different zones of the world, thus gradually spreading their tentacles and making their signature all over the world. This act of disintegration was also a part of prophecy.

“Moreover, the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known.” (Deuteronomy 28:64).
In 135 AD the Roman senate passed a law which exclaimed that no single Jew must be found residing in the land of Israel. Thus they got exiled to various parts of the world in search of food and shelter to sustain their lives, even to Kerala, a small state in India.

With their repeated migration from one place to the other, Israelite have managed to sustain their identity and has hitherto managed to stamp their culture from one corner of the earth to the other, which is also a fulfillment of this prophecy. Despite of their titles as Arabic Jew, British Jew and American Jew, they make it to the point that they exist as themselves, as ‘Jews’ in a collective sense.

It is surprising to note that when history refused to be conducive to various culture, religions and human clans, Israel still exist with their heads up as a result of God’s mercy and heavenly guidance. Hence the triumph of Israel over all the other invading forces that tried to bury them alive as extinct species is indeed a living example to prove the miraculous power of Lord Almighty.

7. The one-man battle of David Ben-Gurion

Further down the line, if we are to analyze the life of Jews a century ago, one cannot turn his blind eye against how traumatic it was for the Jews to survive during the reign of Hitler. However, in the midst of multiple persecutions, threats, and hear trenching massacres, they were zealously anticipating to celebrate a homecoming to their native land.

Later in 1914, when the British Empire was gigantically valorous over the world, some Jewish leaders like David Ben-Gurion, and Golda Meir came forward requesting their wish to have a land of their own. As a result came Balfour declaration, which was a public statement issued by the British government in 1917 during the First World War announcing support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population. The declaration was contained in a letter dated 2 November 1917 from the United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland.

In response to this declaration, finally in 1947, about 6,20,000 Jews got the golden opportunity to make their way back to their ancestral land. On March 14, 1948, Britain left the land of Palestine by completely unlacing the power of colonialism. On this very day David Ben-Gurion made he openly glorified the life of Messianic kingdom whose wrestle with life and death to preserve their culture and religion is unfathomable. Despite being succumbed to multifarious colonial rules and ostracization, in spite of all those migrations and exile, the inhabitants of Israel were irrepressible enough to plough on to their religion and their beliefs. By celebrating this resilience, Ben-Gurion officially announced the birth of a land for Jews, thus came Palestine! Finally on March 14, 1948, Israel made its stamp on the world map as a small independent nation of Jews.

8. The Six-Day War and Triumph over the Arabs

After their Independence on March 14, 1948, Israel experienced an unexpected upsurge in development which threatened the existence of almost all those Arab countries lying next to them. Gradually these Arab nations began to harbor on their insecure feelings which was primarily caused due to the ballooning of Israel nation.

Lord prophesied through Zechariah:

“Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will strike every horse with bewilderment and his rider with madness. But I will watch over the house of Judah, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness”(Zechariah 12: 2-4).

It was the fulfillment of this particular prophesy of lord, that the Israelites witnessed with a war which extended for about 6 long days. In 1967, the Arab countries like Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan began to design master plans to wage war against Israel.

With more than five lakhs of soldiers accompanied by thousands of fighter aircrafts the enemies came hitting the tiny nation of Israel, like an avalanche fall, which was merely 20 years old. Gamal Abdel Nasser, the President of Egypt came proclaiming beforehand that Israel shall be perished to death within no time. As a result of this prediction, they even began building graves for the Israelites, thus concluding the evacuation of the entire Israelites from the globe, without leaving a single trace behind.

Finally on 1967 Jun 5th the war was officially declared! Sinai border was smeared up with the army of opposition. However, warding off all those predictions and expectations put forth by Egypt, Israel exhibited an exceptional performance on the war field, tactfully escaping the Egyptian radars.

With their inventive and pristine war tactics, Israel managed to fight their enemy forces and this unexpected and miraculous flair of Israel gave the Arab countries a bolt from the blue! This very incident was indeed a proof that some omnipresent force was leading them. Not only the Arabs, but for the entire world, this unforeseen victory of Israel was indeed a historic and iconic moment.

The areas surrounding Sinai peninsula, Seuz Canal, Garza, Gulf of Aqaba, Golan heights as well as Gaza barrier, which was once lost was successfully retained by the Israelites.

As prophesied by Lord Almighty, this particular war, caused Israel to expand its horizons three times bigger than it used to be earlier. Hence as per the prophesy of the prophet Isiah, the desert islands of Israel got transformed into lush green Eden. Soon the land was filled with ecstasy and the atmosphere was smeared in celebratory hues.

9. Independence and Freedom after centuries

Finally in 1948, according to God’s promises, Israel became a nation again. Then in 1967 Jerusalem was restored to the Jews, a powerful indication that, indeed, these are the days of favor and restoration for the Jewish people, spoken of by the prophets.

The restoration of the land and the return of the Jews to their land named as Aaliyah, however, have not been without conflict, hardship and war. Anti-Semitism, persecution and centuries-old hatred for the Chosen People, helped fuel the fire within their heart to one day come home to their land and their beloved City.

With a dream to return to their roots they performed a special prayer session thrice a day which is still continued today. So is their love for their land. Aaliyah journeys are still active both via airways and waterways. This can be considered as a fulfillment of all those prophesies made by the prophets like Isiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel in the Old Testament- the return of Jews. Leaving all their bonds behind, their final homecoming to their land of birth has been regarded as a thanksgiving to the lord almighty who guided them through their hard times, finally bestowing then with a golden ticket to their native land, which was a pulsating urge expressed by each and every Jews.

Considering all the above prophecies one could easily conclude the fact that the prophesies on Israel has been bore fruit till the day.
