Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), the most successful Spanish language series of Netflix, will conclude with its 5th season. Netflix tweeted on Friday that “That heist comes to an end.”
Shooting begins soon in Spain, Denmark, and Portugal, with actors Alvaro Morte, Itziar Ituno, Ursula Corbero, Miguel Herran, Jaime Lorente, among others, joining Patrick Criado (The Invisible Line)and Miguel Angel Silvestre (Narcos, Sense8).
Creator and Showrunner Alex Pina said, “We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band.” “How to put the Professor On the Ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel.’ The war reaches its most epic and exciting season.”

Netflix Final Season of Money Heist
The series centered around “the Professor,” a mastermind who plans to pull off the biggest heist in history. He recruits eight people to carry out the mission under his supervision. The series traces two long-planned heists, one on the Royal Mint of Spain, and one on the Bank of Spain. Season 1 and 2 were about the heist on the Royal Mint of Spain. Season 3 and 4 about the heist on the Bank of Spain. The coming season 5, will be a continuation to the heist on the Bank of Spain.
The Spanish series was initially intended as a limited series to be told in two parts. It had its original run of 15 episodes on Spanish network Antena 3 from 2 May 2017 through 23 November 2017. Netflix acquired global streaming rights in late 2017.
The series was filmed in Madrid, Spain, and a significant portion of parts of 3 and 4 were also filmed in Panama, Thailand, and Italy.
The series received several awards, including best drama series at the 46th International Emmy Awards. Money Heist Season 5 will begin production on Monday in Denmark.
