RuPaul’s Drag Race is an American reality competition television series produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV, WOW Presents Plus, and, beginning with the ninth season VH1. The show documents RuPaul in the search for “America’s next drag superstar.” RuPaul plays the role of host, mentor, and head judge for this series, as contestants show different challenges each week. RuPaul’s Drag Race employs a panel of judges, including RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and a host of other guest judges, who critique contestants’ progress throughout the competition.

The title of the show is a play on drag queen and drag racing, and the title sequence and song “Drag Race” both have a drag-racing theme. The show has become the highest-rated television program on Logo TV, now trending on twitter.

The twelfth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1) debuted in February with a twist, with the introduction of the queens to the audience and each other spread out over two episodes. But the real shocker of the season emerged at the end of the second week, as it became clear just how prodigiously talented this season’s contestants are.
In most other seasons, a queen with the edgy wardrobe, overall polish, and ready story line like Dahlia Sin would be a shoo in for the top six. But this season, she went home first. This week, the contestant’s task with designing their drag lifestyle brand called “Droop.” Chaka Khan will be a guest judge. Crystal Methyd, Gigi Goode, Heidi N Closet, Jackie Cox, Jaida Essence Hall, Jan, and Widow Von’Du are still competing for a $100,000 grand prize.
