Tanya Roberts also starred in the fifth and final season of ABC’s ‘Charlie Angels’ and appeared in the cult films ‘ The Beastmaster,’ ‘Body Slam’ and ‘Sheena: Queen of the Jungle.
The 65-year-old actress collapsed while out walking her dogs on Dec.24, and was admitted to Cedar-Sinar hospital in Los Angeles. She died on Sunday her long-time friend and rep Mike Pingel told The Hollywood reporter. Her death was not Covid -19 related.
“I’m devasted. She was brilliant and beautiful and I feel like a light has been taken away. To say she was an angel would be at the top of the list. She was the sweetest person you’d ever meet and had a huge heart. She loved her fans, and I don’t think she realized how much she meant them, “ Pingel told The Hollywood Reporter.”

Born as Victoria Leigh Blum, Roberts had a career modeling and appearing in television advertisements before turning to act in 1975 with the horror movie “ Forced Entry”.She also appeared as Stacey Sutton in 1985’s “A View To Kill ” opposite Roger Moore. Moreover, she did a variety of action/erotica B-movies, comedies, and slasher flicks. Had roles in films like Sins of Desire, Legal Tender, Sheena, The Beastmaster, Almost pregnant, Tourist Trap, and more.
Beyond films, her television career ramped up in the ’90s among the shows best known for her role was on That ‘70’s Show as Midge Pinciotti, the lovable but dim-witted mother of the red-haired tomboy Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon) on the television sitcom. Also won a coveted role of playing an Angel in ABC’s Charlies Angels in which she was replaced by Shelley Hack, appearing as Julie Rogers in the fifth and final season of the show in 1980.
Though her last notable television show was in Showtime’s Barbershop a 2005 series, she was been in communication with fans, including live chats during the pandemic.
Roberts is survived by her partner Lance O’Brien, her sister Barbara and her beloved pets.
