Performing her Metallica cover with the singer, songwriter, pianist-the multi talented genius Elton John. Recently, she opened up further details about her collaboration with the legend in an interview with UK radio station Capital FM.
Last year, Miley Cyrus teased that she was working on a Metallica covers album and now the pop star has served up a few more details, including some A-list collaborators that will help in her cover of “Nothing Else Matters.”
During the interview, Miley Cyrus teased an upcoming collaboration she has planned with a few big-name stars, including Sir Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. A cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” is the one we are talking about. The star revealed in the interview that part of her upcoming Metallica covers album will feature a version of the band’s 1991 hit single. “I did a Metallica cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ featuring Elton John on piano, I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith; so many all-stars in this band,” she said.
“I’m so excited about this collaboration. I’m really stoked. I love when ingredients don’t quite fit,” said the 28-year-old.
But the excitement is further fueled up with the news that with these collaborations, Miley Cyrus is regarded as a contributor to a larger Metallica covers collection that is coming.
Miley Cyrus to collaborate with Elton John!
The singer is no stranger to the song having previously taken on the epic track live during her 2019 set at the Glastonbury Festival.
Though she’s had success in the pop and country worlds, Cyrus has shown the ability to handle rock material as well. In 2020, she covered The Cure and Cranberries during her performance at the #SaveOurStages festival. She also covered Hole’s “Doll Parts” during an appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show and released a new album Plastic Hearts late in 2020 that included more rock-leaning material that included guest turns from rock icons Joan Jett and Billy Idol.
Also, in this very moment she cited that this Metallica is the one which serves as a true inspiration behind her latest album ‘Plastic Heart’.
