‘The Undoing’ by Nicole Kidman makes daring Revelations on the lives of the ‘Privileged’!

The novel HBO series ‘The Undoing’ directed by Susanne Bier kick started its first episode on 25th October 2020, is a remarkable psychological thriller in the history of miniseries! Starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant in lead role, the miniseries is an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz’s thriller novel ‘You Should Have Known’. As a whole the story speaks about the universal issues of marriage, betrayal and the big fat lives that the rich share to save one’s own skin.

The story in every sense is a nail biting thriller that would make its audience to remain glued to one’s own sofa right from its inception till the end. According to the reports of Entertainment Weekly, Nicole Kidman stated that  “It’s so twisty and nothing is what it seems. Choosing to unknow things is a fascinating part of human nature. When you choose and what you choose to believe and what you choose to see, that’s the basis of a lot of the psychology of this series. … Everyone has secrets.”

The series, acclaimed for being the second collaborative effort of Nicole Kidman and David E. Killies after the grand success of ‘Big Little Lies’ has made the audience even more enthusiastic and expectational. The story revolves around the lives of the affluent couple Grace (Kidman) and Jonathan Fraser (Grant) whose seemingly perfect life comes to an abrupt halt with an unexpected murder.

The couple with their teenage son Henry(Noah Jupe from A Quiet Place) meets with the twisted ends of their lives with the un-welcomed events followed by the murder. This is indeed spiced up by some luxurious elements in connection with their life styles particularly that of Grace’s father played by Donald Southland whose 5th Avenue apartment overlooking Central Park becomes a pivotal cast in the story.
