It can be undoubtedly declared that ‘Batman’ was and continues to enjoy a prestigious position among the superhero adaptations so far! Of late, the new set photos from The Batman may have revealed the first look at an iconic location from the Dark Knight’s mythos. Some new behind-the-scenes photos of Matt Reeves’ The Batman set show that Robert Pattinson’s Batcave will be hidden by a beautiful cliffside, a change from the usual setting. Here’s more updates on the innovations.
The Batman initially began production earlier this year, but the filming was halted and delayed due to coronavirus concerns. And when the crew attempted to resume production in September, they almost immediately had to shut down again when Pattinson himself tested positive for COVID-19. Now, production is in full swing, and these new Batcave photos offer a look at the outside of a key Batman location.
Robert Pattinson, who stars as the Caped Crusader in the Year 2 film, is nowhere to be seen in the aerial pics, and neither are any of the other cast members. Instead, we’re given a sneak peak into the exterior set tour.
‘Batman’ cave received a new outlook!
New photos taken of the set of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman are giving fans a first look at the new Batcave for the movie. The fans are offered the view see a body of water, and sections of a forest that hide the entrance to the cave in a rock wall. In the trailer that Matt Reeves brought to DC FanDome, the snippets of the inside of the cave are thus made visible.
For this the crew has transformed a studio lot into Gotham city, with a separate section dedicated to the giant Batcave set. From the outside, one can see an artificial rock cliff that makes up the outside of the Batcave, surrounded by a large pool of water. The production designers have also covered the top of the cliffs in small trees to exaggerate how large the cliffside actually is.
With this novelties Pattinson’s Batman will seemingly be harder to predict.
The Batman is currently finishing production after halting twice due to matters surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The film has also led to a prequel television series at HBO Max centered on the Gotham City Police Department. However, showrunner Terrence Winter departed the series over creative differences.
Directed by Matt Reeves and written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrel as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson.
