Warrior Nun, an American fantasy drama web television series created by Simon Barry, is based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn.

Netflix announced the renewal of the series posting a video on Twitter, in which the showrunner Simon barry talking with the cast including Alba Baptista, Lorena Andrea, Olivia Delcan, Kristina Young, Toya Turner. He gave the good news to the cast as a surprise, and they were shocked and excited to hear the news.

Warrior Nun Season 1

Season 1 begins unfolding events at a church where Ava Silva, the 19-year-old dead girl, is brought for her final ceremonies. At the same time, a group of nuns comes in bringing their wounded leader, Sister Shannon, to the church. Sister Shannon is the holder of the holy halo. Knowing her death is near, Sister Shannon orders to remove the halo from her body and pass it to the next bearer. During the procedure, armed mercenaries attack the nuns, and accidentally the halo is out into the dead body of Ava Silva.

Ava is soon resurrected and finds out that she can now walk and is not a tetraplegic anymore. After the mercenaries attack, the nuns lose track of the halo and later finds out Ava. Later on, Ava realizes her purpose and decides to fight for the order of the warrior nuns.

The series is renewed for season 2 after its premiere in July. The release date for the second season is not yet announced.
