Filmmaker Patty Jenkins, who is awaiting the release of Wonder Woman 1984, is set to come up with another Star Wars movie, titled “Rogue Squadron”. The announcement was during Thursday’s Disney Investor conference. With this Jenkins will be the first woman ever to direct a star wars feature film. “Rogue Squadron” will be released in 2023 Christmas.

Patty posted a video regarding this at Twitter in which she explains her dream about making the greatest fighter pilot movie ever. Executive Chairman of The Walt Disney Company Rober Iger shared the video captioning it as “We are thrilled to have the great Patty Jenkins directing our @StarWars feature film Rogue Squadron, and as a true admirer of her work, it is an honour to have Patty directing her next film for us!”.

The new movie will introduce a new generation of starfighter pilots as they earn their wings and risk their lives in a boundary-pushing, high-speed thrill-ride, and move the saga into the future era of the galaxy, as per the official plotline released by Lucasfilm. It will mark the first feature film in the long-running franchise to be directed by a woman.
